Reporting to the Manager, Member Services. This internship role will provide support to the Member Services department during the winter and spring months of the year to help accommodate the influx of work for the department. The placement will provide an enthusiastic sport management student
with the tools to excel in a sports administration environment. The placement will focus on a range of administration tasks that will equip you with an understanding of amateur sport processes and technical platforms in discipline, appeals, dispute resolution, complaints, registration and communications. This is a non-technical (coach/player) position and requires strong administration skills.
Duties and Responsibility:
- File and catalogue discipline and appeals.
- Gather and prepare information for appeal or discipline cases.
- Create Discipline/Appeal Notices.
- Conduct basic searches in CTMS and SportsEngine for transfers and insurance claims as requested.
- Assist in organizing and managing Ontario Soccer’s Discipline & Appeals Certification Courses
- Other duties as requested
Requirements:
- Must be receiving a course credit for completing the internship
- Excellent interpersonal, administrative and customer service skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, while meeting various deadlines
- Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Visio, Excel, Outlook)
- Currently completing Post-Secondary education in sports administration
